Asus has released a teaser on its Facebook page that says its Padfone 2 is coming on October 16th.
The company has a webpage revealing that it will be announced in Milan next week. Other than that, Asus is staying mum about any other details about the device. Although the rumor mill has churned out a few specs like the body is going to be slimmer that the original Padfone and will be powered by Google’s Android OS.
Asus has not given a spec sheet and its only a wild guess that the devices will run Jelly Bean, aka Android 4.1, priced on the steep side and will feature a quad-core Qualcomm S4 quad-core APQ8064 processor. We can also expect the touchscreen to be sized at 10inch and 4.3 inch respectively and come with a stylus that will work as a Bluetooth headset also.
The Global Certification Forum has approved that the Asus Padfone 2 will come to Asian, European and Latin American LTE connectivity on band 3, 7 and 20. With some luck, consumers may even see GCE to approve US LTE bands in due course also.
