Samsung will be releasing a 5-inch handset in the near future.
Today the company took the wraps off a mid-range Android smartphone which will feature the latest 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. Dubbed as Galaxy Grand, the handset will be equipped with a 5-inch WVGA display sporting a 1.2 GHz dual core processor.
We will once again see a phone by Samsung that features a 2MP front facing camera which we last saw in Galaxy S II and the usual 8MP rear facing camera with full HD video recording. According to the blog, “The GALAXY Grand sports a powerful camera with zero shutter-lag and ultra-quick camera start-up.”
The phone will come with 8GB internal storage which will be expandable via the microSD slot.
For travelers, this will be a good phone for consideration as it will come in two versions, the other being a dual SIM model.
The handset will also include several Samsung-specific features, like Direct Call, which enables users to dial a number by raising the handset up to their ear, and Popup Video, which allows users to watch a video in a pop-up window despite the task on hand.
As yet, there is no word on the availability or pricing.
